Scrip is fundraising while you shop®. The Scrip program allows Peace Lutheran Church members to purchase scrip for everyday expenses like food, clothing, gas, and entertainment while earning a percentage of each dollar of scrip purchased back in revenue. Scrip is "no-selling" fundraising. Buy the gift card of your choice and a percentage of that cards face value will be sent to us. It's a WIN-WIN.
For those of you that are not familiar with the Scrip Program offered at church, here is a brief explanation:
- You purchase gift cards from a large list of participating stores and use them yourself (just like cash) or give them as gifts (i.e. Mother’s Day, Christmas, graduations, etc.). Check out the master listing of participating stores at the Scrip Station in the narthex at church or on the Scrip web site at www.glscrip.com. Nilssen’s grocery store in Baldwin also participates in the Peace Lutheran Scrip program. Examples: Purchase food at Nilssen’s and use your Nilssen’s gift card instead of cash, check, or debit/credit card; or purchase Kwik Trip cards and use them to pay for your gas.
- You pay for and get the full value of the Scrip card purchased. The church purchases the cards for you at a discounted price through Scrip and the church gets the difference. Example: You order a $100 Kwik Trip card. Kwik Trip gives a 4% discount, so you purchase the card through Peace via the Scrip program for $100.00. Peace receives $4.00 and Kwik Trip gets $96.00. You get the full $100.00 value of the card plus you’ve given $4.00 to Peace.
- By supporting and using cards purchased through the Scrip program you are helping the church raise money for various projects.
- At this time Scrip cards are only ordered once a month. The deadline for Scrip purchases may vary slightly each month but is usually either the first or second Sunday (please watch the bulletin and/or newsletter for the monthly deadline). The cards are ready for pick-up the following Sunday.
TO PLACE YOUR ORDER: Complete the Scrip Order Form (blank forms are at the Scrip station in the church narthex or on the church’s website). Items listed on the order form are only the more “commonly” requested cards. You can order any cards from any of the participating stores listed on the Master Listing found at www.glscrip.com. Place your order in an envelope along with your cash or check. Place the envelope in the wooden Scrip box located in the “middle” church office (the Sunday School office) or in the black drop box next to the church office door. Do not place your Scrip order in the offering plate. Pick up your order the following Sunday in the same wooden Scrip box.
If you have any questions at all regarding the Scrip program and how easy it is to use, please contact either Sharon Hauschild (715-426-3501), or Nancy Rowe (715-688-2709). Thank you!
