Peace Lutheran Church, March 7, 2010

HOLY COMMUNION is served continuously.  Please follow the directions of the ushers.  All who are baptized and believe in the crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ are welcome to receive.  The center ring of glasses is grape juice.  Children not receiving communion are encouraged to come forward for a blessing.

 

BLUE VISITOR/INFO CARDS - are available from the ushers.  They are for visitors who would like information about our church or members who would like to communicate with the office or pastor.

DURING THE SEASON OF LENT - Soup suppers run from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. each Wednesday, and worship is at 6:45 p.m.  There are sign-up sheets in the entry and lots of ways to help, so please take some time to see what you can do, and then come and join us for this time of food and fellowship each week.

NEW MEMBER CLASSES – If you or someone you know is interested in joining Peace, we are having new member classes starting TODAY between services (9:30) and continuing on the 14th and 21st.  New members will be welcomed on Palm Sunday, March 28, at both services. Come and see what it means to be a member of Peace!  If you are not able to be here for one of the Sundays, please come for the others.

 

SCRIP ORDERS - The deadline for ordering Scrip this month is TODAY.  Your order will be ready for pick up next Sunday, March 14th.  Simply complete your order form (blank forms at the Scrip station in the narthex) and place it in an envelope along with your cash or check.  Place envelope in the wooden Scrip box located in the middle office.  Thank you.  If you have any questions at all regarding the Scrip program and how easy it is to use, please contact either Nancy Rowe (715-688-2709) or Sharon Hauschild (715-426-3501).  Thank you!

 

EASTER LILIES - You are invited to assist with decorating our church for Easter Sunday, April 4th.  You may remember or honor a family member, friend, or special occasion.  You may purchase Easter Lilies for $9.00 per plant. The plants will be displayed as living memorials at our Easter Sunday services.  You may take them home after the 10:30 a.m. Easter Sunday worship.  Forms can be found in the newsletter, at the usher stand, and in the office.  You may also call in your order to 684-2770 or email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. DATE CORRECTION – The date of Dennis Rud’s funeral was incorrectly listed in the newsletter as February 4, 2010.  The correct date is February 5, 2010.  We apologize for the error.

 

LENT SOUP LUNCHES FOR BIRCHWOOD APARMENT - Peace provides Lenten soup lunches for residents of Birchwood Apts.  We are looking for people to provide homemade bread, soup, or bars and/or also come to serve and visit with the residents from about 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  If you are interested, please contact Sharon Hauschild at 715-426-3501 or just meet us there.  There is a sign-up sheet in the church entry.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST - The Blackhawk Traveling Basketball Program (5th - 8th grade boys and girls) is having a Pancake Breakfast, Silent Auction, and Bake Sale fundraiser March 14th, from 8-12:30pm at the Baldwin American Legion.
